In the Sower of the Seed parable, Jesus tells us of the seeds that were thrown in the thorns Mark 4:7 "And another fell among the thorns, and the thorns grew up and choked it, and it yielded no fruit." He explains it to the disciples in Mark 4:18-19 "And these are those being sown among thorns; such as hear the Word, and the cares of this world, and the deceit of riches, and the lust about other things entering in, choke the Word, and it becomes unfruitful." Did you come to Christ and come out of the gate strong for him but now find yourself getting caught up in the ways of this world? Suddenly other things have become more important than living for Jesus. Are the thorns choking out the Word of God? It's easy to let happen. Just recognize those thorns and weed them out of your life. If your walk with Christ isn't as strong as it use to be, if the things of this world are interfering with your relationship with Jesus Christ, he's waiting for you to come back with open arms. The love of our Father never goes away, it's yours, just come back home. |

Sorry, you lost me on this one.
Kip,
Thanks for commenting. I'll try and explain it better. Some people come to Christ and start to learn and build a relationship with him. But the ways of the world start to get in the way of it. Whether it be money, their job, friends that think your crazy for believing in Christ, anything that gets in the way of building that relationship with Christ. That's what the thorns are. Nothing in this world is more important than Christ, so whatever is getting in the way of that needs to be culled out of our life.
Great blog!
